Our little corner of the internet dedicated to post-retirement travel
What is your idea of a typical holiday taken by retired people? A beach holiday in the sun? A cruise? It will become obvious to anyone looking at this site that we and our friends enjoy a different style of trip. We tend to stay in one area, we travel fairly slowly. We seek out possibilities of interesting and varied landscapes, fascinating cities and towns and we have something of an obsession with ancient buildings and especially ruins!
We enjoy sharing our experiences and the many hundreds of photos we’ve taken along the way and hope you enjoy a glimpse into our travels. With a map in one hand and a camera in the other, we’ve been exploring the great sights and sounds of the UK, Ireland, France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, and Turkey among others.
This website is like our personal scrapbook, a place to share the photos and memories from our journeys. We hope it inspires you to do a little gadding about of your own!
How to Navigate this site
It was quite a challenge for me, as a rank web design amateur, to work out the best way for our visitors to discover what’s contained in this website in a straightforward way. There are various ways to explore it, but the easiest initial way is to go to the Destinations page and choose a country. That will take you to the links to the regions we have visited so far (we live in hope of more!). You’ll also find a drop-down on the Destinations tab which will connecting you to any of the countries from anywhere on the site so that you don’t need to keep returning to the Home page.
